What a roller coaster! First, my traffic grows like crazy. I got some paid directories links, some articles, etc., and my SERPs are getting better and better. I'm second on Yahoo for ddir. Yesterday I got more than 900 visits, and today it is going to be even better. But my earnings yesterday barely crossed $6 - way below I have expected from that kind of traffic. Today I got more than $12. This is definitely something to celebrate. I can't live on that money, but nonetheless they are already noticeable. If I just continue at the same pace (and I hope I will be able to increase this significantly) 12x365=4380 yearly! In some countries this is considered a good income.
Finally, after more than a year online, I got some incentive to work on this project. I started to stage the upgrade to the most recent version of the code. My code is heavily modified, and upgrading is a huge job, and I just did not have energy for it when my site just barely was breaking even. Next in queue are graphics and editing.

Puzzling jump in traffic. Adsense data and short-time plans. Jetsubmitter does have problems
I definitely got some jump in traffic recently. For the last three days analytics shows all records, being 490, 480, and as of 10pm 430 today. SERPs did not really improved; they even got worse cause I've been pushed down three places on Google for my current main keyword comparing to 12th. This kinda puzzles me, but I don't have a clue what's going on, so I'm just watching.
Adsense figures improved, and the last two days I'm getting more than $6 a day. What a difference with the whole previous year. And it looks like that adsense is better not only due to traffic, optimization brings the result, too. It took me a while to figure out how to process the data to get the clear picture, and now I'm pretty much sure that new layout for ddir is better than previous. But I will wait till the end of the week, namely Saturday night, to move on with further testing. This time I'm going to merge upper left ad block with the menu, but leave it blue, not blend it.
Jetsubmitter numbers did not change since yesterday. No reply to email and ticket so far. Submitted one more ticket, will see how it goes.

Record traffic - and mediocre adsense. Steep jetsubmitter learning curve.
Record traffic today. As of now analytics shows 464 visits, the previous record was 422 a couple of weeks ago. Albeit the high traffic, adsense figures are not that impressive as yesterday. I realize I'm still getting pretty decent (for me so far) almost four dollars a day, but this is a big drop comparing to yesterdays $5.56, and celebration mood is gone.
Still fighting jetsubmitter, sorting out the errors on both sides. It is really raw product. It is good, but it needs much more polishing to be called commercial product. Interface is not clear and sometimes really confusing, reporting is not consistent, etc. Anyway, this is the best thing I know about so far, so I'm stuck with it and have to learn to use it.

First five dollars plus! Working on traffic. First article ready for submission.
Wow! That's kinda amazing. I mean it DOES make a difference, I made more than 5 bucks today. First time in my life I made 5 dollars a day on the Internet. With the adsense. I can remember months - and not the single month but many months - when I made less then that. Looks like this thing really has some merit to it. I bet.
Traffic was as usual lately, not more not less. This is the thing I got used to pretty fast - I remember the days (just a month ago) when I was glad to receive 50 visitors, and even 20… Now below 300 is kinda low, 300-400 is the norm. Hope this will get even better with my marketing campaign unfolding. I need to get it way better if I want to create a stream of income that can support my lifestyle. Keep up the good work, and it should materialize. I'm working on it.
Finally completed spinning of one article. Getting 99+% above 30% on dupecop on 50 copies, and I think this is as much as you can get without rewriting everything from scratch. Started to submit with jetspinner, running into errors/bugs, trying to sort them out. Manually drafted one of the spun copies to ezinearticles, found a bunch of errors. Fixed them, restarting the submitting. Read "article domination" and decided to give the resource box one more thought.

Change in adsense placement and look. Spinning articles.
Today at around midnight (11th to 12th) disabled the blended menu links and enabled different blocks for the menu and upper left corner adsense links. Will do those things one at a time. I'm going to use the last week data as a baseline, and to see what adsense will show next week relatively to the previous one. Then I'm going to come back to blended menu, but to change adsense colors to blue. And compare all three tests.
On the other tasks - working on articles spinning. That's quite a nightmare for non-native English speaker. Using both MSWord and online thesaurus, and it is going soooooo slooooow :( I started several articles and did not complete any one of them yet. But I set a goal to start submitting one article this weekend. Hope I can do this....
